Greetings, Lions of District Outstanding!  I am Dianne Lhotte, a six-year Lion and a 35 year public and private, domestic and international teacher. My husband is a Lion and I have two children and five grandchildren. I ride motorcycles and horses, and I am fairly handy when things need to be fixed – which is a very good thing!
I might be the “leader” of District O this Lions fiscal year, but we will cross the finish line July 1, 2027 with completed goals in our hands ONLY IF WE ALL CHANGE OUR MINDSETS. I love Lions. My dad loved Lions for 45 years before me. What we have been doing to sustain ourselves as Clubs in service to our communities clearly has not been enough. We have long-standing traditions of invaluable service to our people and our communities that should never, ever stop. However, if we don’t make some very real (and scary?) changes right now, our cherished and honored traditions will end with us. That would be such a terrible waste of the wonderful example our previous Lions have set for us. Our Clubs do not, do not, belong to us. We are only the stewards of Lionism, passing along to the new generation of Lions our fabulous and historic Lions heritage. What a legacy we leave for them to continue!
We have District goals that appear in our new monthly newsletter. We have goals to reach in donations, in service (reported), in leadership training, and in membership. Your District Cabinet has launched a monthly  membership raffle. Make 10  Lions contacts each week, turn in your completed entry form (in the newsletter) and you’ll be entered for a nice monthly prize – the first being a charcoal grill valued at $200. Each month that you generously share information about Lions with others, you can enter to win! Our job is to plant the seeds and trust that God will bring the harvest. We know that service to others is our most important thing: love your neighbor as yourself. Let’s start loving! Share what you do with your Zone Chair monthly so what you do can be shared with our other District Clubs. We need to SOW SEEDS, and sow then generously to ensure our Clubs will be serving our communities for generations to come!
